Stray greyhound found in Oro Valley

If it’s September, it must be bracelet sales for Jackie’s Fund for Injured Greyhounds/Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption.

You still have plenty of time to buy one-of-a-kind beaded bracelets made with donated beads from our community and beyond. Every bracelet comes with a paw charm.

In the past few months SA Greys has spent $15,000 fixing broken leg dogs from the South Tucson dog track as well as an emaciated stray senior greyhound found in Oro Valley. Parker spent multiple nights at the Veterinary Specialty Center in canine ICU. All the hounds are recovering. That is what a dedicated breed rescue is all about.

Buy bracelets on Sunday/Sept 22 – Heirloom Farmers Market at St. Philips Plaza – 8 am to noon – Look for the Beading Divas / Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption table. Bracelets cost $20.

Tucson–Fashionable fun bracelet for a greyt cause

The next class is Tuesday, August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Silver Sea Jewelry & Gifts, 330 N. 4th Avenue (look for the mermaid in the window), next to Bison Witches Cafe.

Call 624-9954 to reserve your spot. This would be a nice activity for mother/daughter or two friends or co-workers. If you love jewelry, choosing from lots and lots of beads, and helping greyhounds — go for it!

All the money will be donated to Greyhounds 2 Go to help pay for two badly injured greyhounds who have raced and retired from the Tucson dog track.

All supplies are provided — memory wire, you-pick-the-beads, and a charm of your choice.

The cost for the class and bracelet is $25 which includes two hours of instruction, a one-of-a-kind bracelet, and fun and good cheer for all the participants.
