2 greyhound heroes: Cara Brockoff and Noni Davis 2011/02/06

Two Greyhound Heroes

Here are two Greyhound Heroes.

These wonderful women inspire me (Karyn Zoldan) to be a better person and help rescue more greyhounds from the hell known as greyhound racing.

The woman on the left is Cara Brockoff of Northcoast Greyhounds. Cara donates thousands and thousands of dollars every year to greyhound rescue groups in need, through online auctions and raffles for beautiful jewelry.

The woman on the right is Noni Davis. Noni happened to be in the right place at the right time which was Guam. Noni and her husband Dave Davis helped ready almost 200 Guam greyhounds leave Guam for the United States. Noni has very sad stories about finding emaciated hounds in the jungles of Guam, tied to fences, starving, abused, and living in deplorable conditions. Noni and Dave both volunteered for GAIN (Guam Animals in Need) and helped Greyhound Protection League and numerous other greyhound rescue groups in the U.S. get these deserving hounds off the island.

I was fortunate to rendezvous with these two amazing women at Elle Restaurant in Tucson for a nice dinner and conversation.
