Chili is a happy, outgoing 2 year old who had 7 fractures in his rear leg (a racing related injury). Dr. Goodman thought they would have to amputate, but instead was able to put “Humpty Dumpty” back together again.
He has had many bumps on the road to recovery, but has come out on the upside. He also developed MSRA at one point. Chili had multiple surgeries to get him to this point.
His bill has been very expensive…more than $6,000.
Hell yes!
This happy boy Chili behaves just like any 2 year old greyhound now and walks perfectly on his rebuilt leg. Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption believes that every greyhound should be in a forever home and that is why Beading Divas to the Rescue chose this charity for the month of December.
Just like the dog or dogs lying on your couch or your lap — Chili deserves his forever home.
During the month of December, all bracelet fundraising benefits broken leg greyhounds.
If you don’t want to buy a bracelet or three, consider making a direct donation.

Update: GOOD NEWS – Bob was adopted today – Nov. 23
For the month of November 2013, Beading Divas to the Rescue is honored to be raising money through bracelet sales for In the Arms of Angels All Breed Dog & Cat Rescue.
Started at the end of November 2010, AOA has adopted out more than 1,000 pets so far. Amazingly, they have approximately 100 fosters homes for dogs & cats! AOA pulls most of the pets from PACC (Pima Animal Care Center). Many of these pets are urgent or special needs. AOA supplies food for foster pets and pays for medical expenses thru designated veterinarians.
Above is a handsome fellow that would be a good fit for almost any home. Bob absolutely loves life, he has never met a person or a dog he doesn’t like and he is currently trying to learn that cats makes good friends too. Bob loves to explore the yard and enjoys hunting for lizards. He also loves playing fetch and catch. He is an intelligent guy who is very eager to please and already knows a few commands.
Bob adores car rides and he adores the attention of his humans. Bob is very tolerant with kids and had no objections to his foster sister trying to climb on him. Bob is not cat approved at this time, but he is making great strides at coexisting with his feline fosters. All together Bob is quite well rounded. Is Bob the dog for you?
AOA also has about 50 available cats.
Let’s sell a whole lot of bracelets this month! There are so many opportunities for where to buy them. As you can imagine with so many adoptions under their belt, AOA has a full schedule of meet & greets. Check them out as well as the beautiful bracelets which cost $20 and the entire $20 goes directly to AOA. You can pay cash or write a check payable to AOA.

Beading Divas to the Rescue are taking a much needed break for the month of July.
There will be no bracelet sales online or at any of the local venues. If some sales slip by, the funds will be added to the August group, whoever that might be.
We’ll be back in August with a new charity and a new attitude or not.
In the meantime if you want to show us your favorite Beading Diva bracelets, send photos of bracelets on your wrist or dangling from the chandelier or whatever to karynzoldan@yahoo.com and tell us why you like your bracelet so much.
Stay cool!

Here’s Lizzie Mead, 3 years after the hit-and-run accident which left her with a $14,300 vet bill.
This humble blog written by Karyn Zoldan helped to generate buzz about Lizzie’s accident. Donations from far and wide, insurance money, and the sale of bracelets made with donated beads paid off the the vet bill as well as the on the ground footwork and creativity of greyhound friends — Michelle Caillet, Angy Shearer, Glenda Taylor, Cynthia David, and Loren Dawn.
Then Lizzie wanted to give back and the rest is history.
Now known as Beading Divas to the Rescue, the original seven women, along with a cast of many who donate beads and make bracelets, have helped to benefit numerous animal charities.
You can read about Lizzie’s accident here.
You can read about our donation history here.
Since we’re all greyhound adopters, October is Arizona Greyhound Rescue month. Arizona Greyhound Rescue finds forever homes for retired race dogs from Tucson, other states where dog racing still exists too, breeding farms and the occasional greyhound mix or dog in need.
You can buy bracelets at:
Silver Sea Jewelry & Gifts, 330 N. 4th Ave., in the 4th Avenue shopping district, 520-624-9954
Sissy’s Pet Grooming Salon, 7350 N. La Cholla Blvd (@ Ina/Albertsons Shopping Center), 520-229-9898
Bracelets cost $20 and the entire $20 goes directly to the greyhounds.
Please pay by check payable to AGR or cash only.
If not in Tucson, you can still buy bracelets online via Etsy (add $4 for S&H)

Fundraising Bracelets for Tucson Wildlife Center
During the month of August, Beading Divas to the Rescue is proud to sell bracelets to help raise funds for Tucson Wildlife Center.
Sam the javelina was hit by a car in the Sam Hughes area of Tucson. Dr. Bill did surgery on Sam’s leg, and applied a cast. Sam’s head wound and leg have healed, and his cast has been removed. Sam has been integrated into a new herd and the herd will be released to a safe location.
In 1998, Lisa Bates rescued an injured raccoon and soon found that there were no services to rehabilitate it. Thus, the Tucson Wildlife Center was born.
The Tucson Wildlife Center became a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization in 2000 and is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned wild animals throughout southern Arizona.
