Fire destroys main source of revenue

The Dog Thrift Shop in Lakeside, Ariz., burned down. It was the main source of revenue for the Humane Society of the White Mountains. All the people and pets got out safely; unfortunately the shop canary did not. There is an immediate need for for all types of help, such as donations of food, blankets, tarps, kennels, money, volunteer assistance, and fostering or adoption of some of the animals.

The shelter is seriously over capacity and some of the animals may have to be euthanized if they can not be relocated or if they cannot get the needed help to house the animals as well as keep the shelter open.

Please open your hearts, homes, or pocket books in any way you can. Even a few dollars can and will make a difference in the lives of these animals.

Donations can be made by visiting the Humane Society of the White Mountains.
